Akure — With effect from January 1, 2010, officials in the service of Ondo State Civil Service Commission will have to write compulsory promotional examinations as part of the clearly defined performance criteria within the state civil service.

Head of Service (HoS), Ajose Kudehinbu, disclosed the plan on Monday, at a press conference held at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Press Centre in Akure, as part of the activities marking the 2009 Civil Service Day.

According to Kudehinbu, the move is to rejuvenate the service and set it on the path of rebirth and growth.

He also said the government is committed to filling existing vacancies in critical areas, to allow ministries, departments and government agencies the benefit of staff complements which would make for prompt and better delivery of service to the people.

Kudehinbu was appointed Head of Service in March by Governor Olusegun Mimiko to succeed the immediate past HoS, Alaba Isijola, who has since resigned from the service. He promised that the year's celebration would be used to reward, motivate and encourage deserving officials.

He hailed the government for demonstrating commitment to building a responsive, knowledgeable and performance-driven civil service, which he said, not only had provided the enabling environment but has also taken concrete measures aimed at stimulating its workforce towards efficiency, productivity and improved service delivery.

He said the celebration would provide opportunity for reflection on the functions of the service, its mission and objectives, programmes and projects, problems and challenges, success and failure.

According to the HoS, the focus of this year celebration "is to encourage partnerships and collaborations in meeting the collective challenges of development, especially at a time of global recession like this" in line with the theme of the celebration, "Fostering Partnerships and Collaboration for Sustainable Development and Improved Service Delivery".

I think the whole country should adopt this.
However, will be another opportunity for the boss to have sex with all the female employees.
But it is a great idea, if it can be well implemented
