Escravos Warri Pipeline Resumes Operation by Ridwan1821: 5:35pm On Apr 23, 2016
– Dr Ibe Kachikwu, the minister of state for petroleum resources and the managing director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), has recommissioned the Escravos-Warri-Kaduna pipeline
– The 46 km Escravos-Warri pipeline would help ending fuel supply and distribution problem
– The minister urges Nigerians to remain patient

Minister Kachikwu said that Warri had started working, while Kaduna would start production at the end of the month. He also stressed that both Warri and Kaduna refineries are now receiving crude simultaneously for the first time in many years. The minister made the declaration during the recommissioning of the Escravos-Warri pipeline.
“The challenge of this country is the challenge of focus and stewardship. For the first time in many years the three refineries are going to be working and it will help in a great deal with the issue of fuel supply and distribution across the country and it will go a long way to manage the fuel crisis,” he said.

Dr. Kachikwu stated that Escravos terminal is the heart beat of the downstream sector of the industry and critical to local supply of finished petroleum product as both refineries in Warri and Kaduna are majorly fed from Escravos crude stock.

“I appreciate the patients of Nigerians and I am committed and focused to make petrol available to all nooks and crannies of Nigeria,” the minister concluded.

Fuel scarcity persists in the oil-rich Nigeria since January. Pipeline vandalism is one of the factors which case it.
Last week the presidency promised to treat pipeline vandals in the same way as terrorists. In their return, the militant groups in the Niger Delta said they would not be intimidated by the threats of the Buhari administration and would continue their actions in the interests of their people.
