As it is written old things are passed away and behold all things are become new. if as a christian that has confessed Jesus Christ and try to follow the tenet of the bible and one is still struggling with sinful habits is can that person be counted as a born again? will her prayers be answered. what can one do to break away from a sinful habit?

are born again Christians human?

''Can we continue in sin that grace may abound...?'' ''If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature, old things...'' '' He that commiteth sin is of the devil, for the devil...'' II Corinthians 5:17. That soul struggling with sin must go back to the cross for sanctification through the Holyspirit!

Yes, you can be born again and still struggle with sin i.e. quick to anger and malice keeping without control. We have to know that even when we ask for forgiveness and don't repent we haven't fully turned away from it, as to repent means to fully turn away and not go back to that sin. The only way to rid yourself from such sin is to take it to God and ask the Holy Spirit to remove it for you. Pick a verse / scripture in the Bible that speaks to you and read it a few times, let any word jump out at you and use it, start with Praise, forgiveness, then ask the HS to deal with the issue/s for you, then thanksgiving. Focus and pray until you feel a release.

remember that we are human,flesh, canal and bible says: in 1john 1 vs 8 : if we say that we have no sin , we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. Then ephesians 2 vs 8-9 says: for by grace you are saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, its the gift of God :9)not of works,lest any man should boast; so if you are saved not by your power but is a gift now look at rom 3vs 23 for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. So please you can try to be perfect but only by grace of God.

According to my own experience; Once someone, genuinely give him/her life to Jesus Christ, the power to resist ungodly lives and worldly lives, will be giving to such one from above, the feelings and the urge will still be there, but the grace and the ability to always over come, will always be supply unto us, you just need to pray often, study your bible often, and visit the house of God often; Ask God to give you godly mindset, power over your will, and separate yourself from your old friends, give them break, for the many time, untill you receive the power from above, to say No, to anything that contradict the will of God.

"Old things are passed away and behold all things are become now" as spoken by Paul was instead said a reference to the passing of the time of the Old Law and the beginning of the time of the New Law - the change in the times predicted by the prophets of Old. It has nothing with your assumptions regarding sin and sinlessness(Holiness).
