The practice of herbal medicine in Nigeria and in most parts of Africa was identified with witchcraft, sorcery, ritualism, and all sorts of fetish practices. Because herbal medicine was associated with paganism, African Christians secretly patronize traditional healers, and the educated elite and religious figures did not want to be associated in any way with traditional African medicine.

Nature Power, by Fr. Anselm Adodo, was written to correct the misconception that African herbal medicine is synonymous with paganism, ritualism, and fetishism. Nature Power has contributed immensely in changing the attitudes of both the government and Christians toward the practice of herbal medicine.

The book has also helped to show that health is more than an absence of disease. Health is wholeness of mind, soul, and body. Much of the information in the book is age-old secrets, which herbalists keep close to their chests. The author has made them available here so that humanity may profit from them. The need for this became so necessary because sicknesses and health challenges are no respecter of religion, ethnicity, sex or age.

Nature Power vividly analyzes a comprehensive list of common, highly medicinal but most often despised natural foods (plants) around us, for the good of man-kind. Their medicinal values and uses to prevent diseases and health issues are clearly explained, e.g Bitter Leave, Basil Leaf, Water, Pawpaw, Aloe Vera, Lime, Lemon, Kola-nut, Mango, Lemon Grass, Coconut, Onion, Garlic, Ginger, etc.

The book is a ‘gospel of natural medicine’ and a call to total liberation from unnecessary dependence on synthetic or chemical drugs. Emphasis is on natural remedies derived from trees or plants growing in our backyards. It is a must-have for everyone that desires good health. READ MORE:
