Governor of Enugu State, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi has indicted the security agencies in the state, especially the police and army for not living up to their responsibilities, a situation, he says, led to the wanton loss of lives and property inparts of the state.
The governor, while addressing the media on Friday April 29 about the recent attacks by Fulani Herdsmen in some communities in Enugu State, revealed that the state government got security reports of an imminent attack, immediately summoned an emergency meeting of the state security council, and got assurances by the security agencies that the situation was under control, yet a few hours later, the marauding Fulani Herdsmen struck unhindered.
