Governor UmaruTanko Al -Makura of Nasarawa State yesterday rescued five accident victims along the Gudi- Akwanga road. Travelling from Abuja to Lafia after an official function, he met the victims in a pool of their own blood few kilometers after Gudi where he said his Friday prayers.

The victims, who were travelling in a green Sharon car, had an accident with a gold coloured Toyota SUV.
The governor immediately directed one of the vehicles in his convoy to convey the victims to the Akwanga General Hospital for treatment and also promised to pay the bills.
The victims - an aged woman, a young lady and three men - sustained various degrees of injury.

The governor’s media aide Ahmed Tukur said Al-Makura was moved by the condition of the victims and decided to come to their rescue. The governor assigned one of the vehicles in his convoy to rush them to hospital and also asked a senior government official to follow them and ensure that they are given immediate medical attention.
