The crucifixion of calvary is a story virtually everyone is familiar of. God needs to redeem mankind from their sins and the only way to do this was to send his only begotten son to be born of a virgin and then to be crucified but only to be brought back after 3 days and to be once again reunited with his daddy.

The punishment at caucasa is a story we all may not be familiar with.

Prometheus's punishment was to be chained to a rock and have an eagle (or a vulture by some variants) pick out his liver every day for eons, until Heracles slew the eagle, releasing Prometheus from his affliction.

In the old testament times when one sinned he would sacrifice his goat for atonement for his sins . the preist would carry out this sacrifice and the recepient would be aware that the sacrifice is been carried out for the atonement of his sins.

Where as in the case of jesus of nazareth , those who crucified him were not aware and those who the sacrifice was been carried out for, the entire world, wasnt even aware . most of the citizens of planet earth carried out their day to day events without even knowing that an event like this was going on in palestine.

The goat when killed was not ressurected where as jesus was resurrected and got reunited with his dad.


Jesus suffered on the cross for a few hours even when in those days victims could suffer on the cross for days befor dying. Prometheus suffering was meant for eternity.

Why do xtians make so much of a big deal about the crucifixion of jesus.

In comparison . jesus sacrifice was infinitesimal
