Oh please!! Stop with the defense already..
Those kids wouldn't have died this way if things were done properly.
A government that never cared about the safety of those kids whilst alive is suddenly very concerned about the bodies that'd decompose.
Doesn't that sound creepy to you? undecided undecided

We still have a long way to go sad

Pls explain how else could the state govt done things properly to have avoided their deaths?
How did the govt failed to care for their safety? - pls be specific with your answer.

For those that are saying why the Kano State Gov't didn't transport the late students to Lagos by air, i want to ask whether accidents don't happen with planes? Yes when traveling by road the chances of one involving in an accident in Nigeria is far greater than when traveling by air. God has destined these boys to go this way this time & there is nothing ANY human being can do about it. No body in this world will breath a single more than what was destined for him/her and nobody can escape a way through which he/she is destined to leave this world. U r talking as if one can dodge death or choose not to die in a certain way. If death or the way through which one will die is a choice, then i don't think there will be anything called death. Do u think all those that died through painful ways were there choices?

I will help you..

1. Make proper travel arrangements for the kids: If the distance exceeds 3 hrs by road, they should have been flown to and fro their destination.

2. If they must travel by road, they should have been provided with a Good Bus fitted with speed control, a Mobile Police Escort for security and the likes. The same type of logistics arrangement given to Government delegates when they travel by road.

Note: Those kids were made to travel from Lagos to Kano by road.. A distance of 830 Kilometers. Even at 100'km/hr top speed (which is fast), that is an 8 Hour journey. The risk is high no matter how you look at it. The roads that we all know are death traps. I am sorry but you cant make excuses for the Government on this. Shey when they died, the same Government forked out cash to fly their dead bodies from Lagos to Kano. angry

God did not destine anybody to die like this.

yes accidents happen by Air, but you must agree that from the onset, the travel arrangements for those kids on a 'State Assignment was piss poor'.

If the Governor were traveling that distance by road, the arrangements would not be the same as what those kids had.

Now, lets take the line of argument that there was no money, shey dem finally enter plane after dem die?

If it were atheletes travelling, they would have flown.
If it were Government travelling, they would have flown.

I suppose you don't you ain't aware of the culture of waste by our state governors. Ask those resident in Kano,......how often does the Kano State Governor go to Abuja from Kano by road? I bet, at least 8 out of every 10 trips to and from Abuja is by chartered flight. And mind you, Kano all the way to Abuja is dual carriage!
Government generally in Nigeria is purely for the benefit of our politicians.

It sometimes pays to think before jumping to conclusion.
Government was intervening only to assist because corpses decompose quickly especially in this heat than live beings.
Secondly, Muslims need to bury their dead as soon as possible, without any fuss or delay; hence the urgency to airlift them back home for burial.
Shey you understand?

May the lord grant them eternal rest, and may God give their loved once the fortitude to bear the lost. National tragedy.

What if they were flown to lagos and the plane crashed would u also blame the goverment? God have is way of doing things, he does is things the way it pleases him. We should rather pray for their soul and the loved once they left behind.

Is that how your state government made arrangements for its own candidates and what other states made similar arrangements for their candidates (with fitted speed control, police escorts and all) or is is Kano State a convenient candidate for criticism.
I recall some doctors similarly losing their lives on the road but didn't notice your dissenting voice in that thread.

Accidents happen and people die, a whole Minister also recently died on the road, we some times have to accept fate because whatever is destined to happen will inevitably happen.
I disagree, the state government was not culpable in these particular deaths.

Please, unless your family is a direct beneficiary of the Kano State Government, your response is rather senseless (No offence)

I did not tell you my State Government is the best or would have done better. In fact, my State Governor is a reetard.. I am not in competition with you on this matter. Families just lost their kids.

Just because other state Governments are acting like fools should not stop you from holding your state government to high standards.

The Doctors that died were not on State Government business. They were on a private business (NMA Meeting). The approvals and logistics for their trip does not need Government approval.. These kids however were on a Government approved mission.

If this is all you can come back with then maybe you shouldn't be having this conversation. I will succumb to superior logic and opinions, but this you came back with is utter bollocks. Again, No offence.

Then we can agree to disagree on this matter.
BTW, I am not a beneficiary of the state government but an ordinary citizen who refuses to sit back and watch it being singled out for criticism against the norm - for what clearly appears as double standards and still keep quiet.

Double Standards? cheesy grin grin grin grin

Lets start from 'Standard' before we approach double.

There was absolutely NO STANDARD employed in the management of the travel logistics of those kids.

Stop defending your Governor. Citizens are meant to hold their 'Public Servants' to accountability. Unless you can come out here to tell us as an Official Mouthpiece of the Government of Kano why those Kids were put in such precarious condition when alive and yet flown back when they had died, I suggest you take a back seat.

This is not about tribalism or ethinicism, this is purely about Good Governance and accountability.

If the Government had money to fly their corpses, then they sure as hell had money to fly them when they were alive.

We sure can agree to disagree, but please do not defend the undefendable..
