The Hon. Member representing Funtua at Katsina State House of Assembly has ordered the arrest of a Facebook user with the name Sani Hamza Funtua for writing an open letter to the Hon. Member voicing their concern over his style of leadership.


The arrest was carried out by the Nigerian police in Funtua, prior to the arrest; witnesses disclosed that the Hon. Member popularly known as Total has sent threatening messages to Hamza Funtua on Facebook.

The online community finds these to be a threat to freedom of expression and oppression under democracy, the people of Katsina, Funtua and the online community is calling on the Nigerian Police, The Katsina State House of Assembly and Katsina State Government to intervene & free Sani Hamza Faruk.


Social Media is the only tool and voice for the masses in Nigeria. It has exposed bad leaders by checkmating their activities.

Though the content of the open letter remain UNKNOWN to ascertain the nature of words used but we wait as the story unfold.
