Strong indications have emerged that President Mohammadu Buhari may reshuffle the federal cabinet very soon. Sources in the Presidency hinted Irohinoodua that the past one year has been a period of ‘trial’ for many of the federal Ministers and that the President is bent on changing some of them in order to select the real ‘renaissance team.’

The source stated “I can tell you that the President is anxious to select his dream team after one year of working with people selected ministers based on the last elections in order to meet political expediency. He has texted the ministers. It is time now for him to pick the renaissance team.”

The source who does not wish to be named claimed that some of the current ministers were selected because of the strategic roles played by many of them in the last Presidential elections, not really that they were the best the country could source. He said some of the ministers were picked by Buhari because they made financial contributions to the success of the campaign.

An official of the All Progressive Congress, (APC) told Irohinoodua that ‘a few of the ministers may be changed or redeployed’. The source said the President will no act unilaterally but after due consultation with the party hierarchy. “He will consult widely before taking his decision. The next team will be better that the Ministers picked last year. The last one year has been that of soul searching and acid test for many of the Ministers”, the source stated. The new changes is also expected to include more hands from the South East area which has demonstrated lukewarm attitude to the President’s policies based on assumptions of marginalization.

President Buhari is considered as pious, virtuous, disciplined and incorruptible. For instance, he was said to have served as the Military Governor of the old North East and had only a bicycle after completing his term as the military administrator. He is also the only Nigerian former Head of State that has no land or private building in Abuja. Since he came to power in 2015, the President has laid remarkable examples which he expected the sometimes reluctant ministers to emulate.

However, he may have been disappointed by not a few of them. Few days ago, some of the Ministers were said to have met the President demanding for N20million yearly housing allowance. While the request appear to be little compared with the past years of extravagant and lavish culture, the President was said to have considered the request outrageous considering the lean national economy and the fact that many of the ministers have private residences in Abuja. “The President wants a cleaner team. He has been looking for them and he will make changes soon.” However, it is uncertain when exactly the President will announce the changes whether it will be on May 29 or during the country’s October 1 independence anniversary.

He needs to do dat urgently, Fashola should go or given just one portfolio, he seems distracted maybe the saddle of responsibilities is just too much. South east? Hmm wen did Buhari become born-again n soft

His cabinet doesn't need reshufling,it needs total overhaul. With the exception of a few,the rest are mere politicians devoid of the needed input to turn their ministries and the nation around

This is total crap,the ministers came in November,they are just five months and few weeks into their job/role,the working tool they need to do their job just got signed today,so on what basis are conspiracy theorist judging them on?on more SE ministers in the cabinet,I dont understand that they are well represented,maybe the op is talking about other cabinet members that are not ministers.
