2016 Budget: Federal Government Promises 100% Implementation by GloriaSabipeepz(m): 12:21am On May 09, 2016
The federal government has denied some rumours making the rounds that the 2016 budget won’t be fully implemented.

According to the government, its officials would be working to achieve 100 percent implementation of the budget despite the late signing of the document.
Akpandem James, media aide to the minister of budget and national planning minister, Udo Udoma, in a statement obtained by Daily Trust, yesterday, May 7 refuted the reports.

According to the media aide, the minister was misquoted by state house correspondents after he addressed them after the signing ceremony by President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Aso Rock on Friday, May 6.

He said his boss only conceded that the late approval might constrain full implementation.

His words: ”Nevertheless the federal government intends to still try its best to achieve 100 per cent implementation.”
Udoma had said:”Our aim will always be 100 percent implementation. We know that because we started late, we may not achieve it, but that is our aim.

”We will start off with that aim because the budget is a law. So, we’ll try and implement it as faithfully as we can.
”However, the reality is that we may not (achieve it) because we started late. So to cure that, subsequently, we’ll start earlier to give us a better chance of implementing the budget in full. But we’ll do our best.’‘

The 2016 budget was signed into law at exactly 12:32pm by President Muhammadu Buhariinside his office at the Presidential Villa, Abuja today, May 6.
