I mean a car easy to maintain, rugged, has good fuel economy, and has a bit swags cos am a novice when it comes to cars infact I don't know how to drive yet, d car would be my first car, so I think I need d advice of my experienced colleagues.

the cars I mentioned are pretty easy to maintain, unless u don't like them, since Swag is on your checklist. But u can upgrade by saving up to a million or simply going with well maintained Nigerian used, like the 2003-2004 accord.

Swag shouldn't be in Ur agenda since you are on a low budget(yes,700k is low in these times of low naira value) lest U end up buying a lemon.
You had better stick to a simple and cheap car since it's Ur first car,so that if by chance U need to have extensive repairs(even brand new cars can sometimes get spoilt unexpectedly),U won't need to break a bank.
An experienced driver will likely notice a car is overheating just cos he's perceiving a strange smell then he'll look at the temperature gauge but a starter might not notice until d car stops on it's own wt a lot of damage already done, hence U need to start wt a simpler, not too expensive car.
If U are buying a Nigeria used car,be sure to go wt a mechanic WHO SPECIALISES IN THE TYPE OF CAR u wanna buy.
If d price is too good to be true, then it's prolly not true unless its a car U know it's history, forget abt all those talk about distress sale etc,if a niccur is selling a good car so cheap, his neighbors, friends,in laws etc will prolly rush and buy it and borrow if they need to cos they know d bargain is very good.
These r d few I can remember,I'm sure other contributors will come up with more advice.
