I have came across lots of articles where each of the duo were described as the father of african literature,which of them do you think that title fits better.matured minds pls.

Olaudah Equiano wrote an autobiography that could be acclaimed as one of the earliest literary piece written by an African. Achebe on his part is the first true novelist in whatever sense you may want to look at it. There shouldn't be any reason to compare both.
