Ibadan Residents Protest Over Fuel Subsidy Removal by jhasper(m): 3:04pm On May 14, 2016
Following the recent fuel subsidy removal by the federal government announced on Wednesday, May 11, the residents of Ibadan, Oyo state has trooped out onto the streets to protest. According to The Punch, the Joint Action Front on Friday, May 13 organised a protest against the government’s policy which triggered the increase of a litre of fuel from N87 to N145.

More protests are expected across the nation in few days time The group led by its coordinator in Oyo state, Dr Demola Aremu started its march from University of Ibadan with a call on the federal government to reverse the decision in the interest of the Nigerian masses. They also called on the federal government to fish out subsidy fraudsters, who they claimed were friends of government officials, and prosecute them accordingly.
