The strange thing But this strike action is that, there's still a higher level of compliance in the south west than we have In other regions, especially the south South and South East.
Perhaps most of the things we read here via comments isn't a true representation of the mind of the people. Coz I expected the whole of the ss/se to be in total lock down.

RSG is trying to be too clever with this statement though, following the Italian adage that says "when you want to pull a snake out of its hole, be sure to use someone else's hand".

Why chip in "FG directive" when the action is strictly one taken by the state government?? There is no such thing as "compliance with the FG directive" here since the RSG employees are under the pay-roll of the state and not the FG.

Discerning minds should know the difference. This is a decision by the RSG and has absolutely nothing to do with the FG. Bringing in the FG is just a ploy to deflect anger from themselves.

Nonsense what's this one saying?

Has he paid civil servants since february? Owing good number of them feb to date. A large chunk from march and none has been paid April. Today is 19th may. Yet, he's hosting his party's national convention. Rivers state has entered 1 chance.

This thread is going to be a litmus test of hypocrisy on Nairaland.

Let the comments roll in! cheesy
The thing dey sweet my belle o. In 2012 the Lagos State Government did not only allow it workers to go on strike if they wished, they also permitted Nigerians to show their anger against the FG by making the Freedom Park, Ojoto, available for them.

How please explain boss.??
Very simple...

in 2015 alone govt spent N1.2 tr on subsidy. that money will now go to States and FG. This is in addition to pump tax that would be accrued to the federation and shared by relevant tiers of government.

Hmm. Well I guess I was wrong. My presumption was specifically due to the suspension of academic activities in the University of Uyo....

You study there?

If d RSG is in charge of its workers, then why claim they're following d FG's directive on 'no work no pay'?

Is it d FG that pays RSG workers?

If they don't want to join d strike, then they should plainly state so instead of claiming they're following FG's directive.

This NLC sef, where were they when workers were being owed for months?
