It should be recall President Buhari is also the one who defeat Metatsine in 1980s (A terrorist group with similar ideology like Boko Haram). The same soldiers who failed in defeating Boko Haram are now heros when it comes to converting insurgency. This is due to the anti-corruption stand of the president, which was formally a big problem in the Nigerian Army.

Air Marshall Abubakar Saddiq: Nigerian Chief of Air Staff. Successful Aerial bombardment of terrorist strong hold and operation crack down were as the result of his selfless service to the Nation.

The security situation in the north got so bad even as far down as kaduna we slept with our eyes open, after hearing news of how the insurgents over ran towns like bama, mubi etc. It was only a matter of time before they got to the northwest. In fact we had to instruct our families to be perpetually moving around with abulution (Islamic ritual purification) in market and public places in case they are caught up in a suicide attack.

Hence my initial prayer above.
