Is The Christian Body In Northern Nigeria Indulgent Of Corruption? by NadinePost(f): 9:38pm On May 29, 2016
THE Northern branch of Christians Association of Nigeria, threatened President Muhammadu Buhari against purported moves to arrest former President Goodluck Jonathan, saying Nigeria would boil should the government arrest the man regarded as the “hero of democracy”.

It is clear from CAN perspective former President Jonathan should not be investigated or questioned despite all evidences tailing to accusations pointing towards him has been established. Therefore, Northern Nigerian CAN has granted Jonathan indulgence in a manner of that of the Roman Catholic Priest.

Nigerians today, justify bad behaviour, illegal activities, and corrupt practices based on the accused’s ethnic background and religious affiliation. Concisely, ethnicity and religion protect corruption and abuse of power.

Sadly, what is bizarre is that their goal as religious body, whose ethics and moral values should have been on protecting the interest of “voiceless” the masses, is being sympathetic and defending a former leader who presided over widespread of corruption during his six years in office.
