Nigerian R&B star Bankole ‘Banky W’
Wellington is probably the only single guy
left in his ‘immediate circle’ as close friends
such as Olamide Adedeji, Noble Igwe, Ebuka
Obi-Uchendu and most recently Tunde
Demuren have all tied the knot.

Sharing a photo on his Instagram account
on Saturday, May 28, 2016, the singer and
some friends were spotted with hands
stretched out but he was the only man
without a wedding ring, which prompted a
few reactions on social media.

In 2014, the EME artiste and label executive
was the best man at the highly-publicized
wedding of singer Tiwa Savage and Tunji
‘Tee Billz’ Balogun in Dubai.
With his best man role yet again at
#TSquared2016, it makes it the second
celebrity wedding he is playing such a
prominent role in hence the need to
address talks on his relationship status.

Earlier in 2016, he responded to snide
remarks and innuendos about his single
status saying he will take some time off
music and entertainment soon to start a
family of his. It remains to be seen how
that pans out.

It might interest you to know that in times
past, Banky W has been directly or indirectly
involved with choice women, all of whom he
failed to settle down with.

In January 2016, international journalist
Faith Irabor reported that the relationship
between Banky W and his Italian/ Ghanaian
lover had crashed after they couldn’t work
things out any further.

Recall that in 2013, Banky W openly denied
being in a relationship with Andrea, his
alleged Italian/ Ghanaian girlfriend, after
news of both of them being an item almost
became viral.
Andrea Manuella Giaccaglia and her former
lover Chris Attoh had reportedly just
broken their affair after which Banky W
came into the picture, but the singer denied
all of that.

In response to the claims, Banky told Hip
Hop World magazine that nothing in the
mould of a relationship was going on
between him and Andrea.
He said: “That’s news to me. Nothing
happened, she’s a fantastic person who
happens to be my friend.

“I think people shouldn’t be so obsessed
about my relationship status, I’ll get
married when the time is right and the lady
is right. When these two things are in order
I’ll marry. At the moment, I am 100%
single,” he concluded.

Similarly, in a 2016 development, Faith
reported that the Lagos Party singer had
allegedly started an affair with label mate,
Niyola.

It was also reported that they had both
been on with the secret relationship for
some time, the exact reason Banky never
public accepted he was dating Andrea.

“Banky and Niyola are dating and it’s for
real, it is one of the reasons he often
vehemently denied his romance with
Andrea all the time they were still
together,” Faith Irabor reported.
Her source also claimed both singers
presented the entire ‘label boss-artiste’
image to the public all along just to keep
the affair under wraps even though the
actual nature of the relationship is open to
close associates like Tunde Demuren, Tee
Billz, Tiwa Savage, and a few others.

Nothing has been heard again in the light of
Banky’s relationship with Niyola nor with
another lady ever since.
