As millions of Nigerians struggle to find work, some people are taking off in employment at the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN).

The most important “qualification” is closeness to the Aviation Minister Sirika Hadi. A source has revealed that about 100 people have got jobs at FAAN and all of them come from Hadi’s state, Katsina, with most of the from Katsina North, his senatorial district.

None of these jobs was advertised to give other unemployed Nigerians a chance.


A similar scenario is said to have played out in recent times at the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Central Bank of Nigeria, with relatives of top Nigerians being shunted into hundreds of jobs and no pretence of open competition.

No wahala. But I just hope there won't be an uproar from the northerners when another tribe like igbo takes power and decides to do exactly the same thing.
See how uncomfortable and jittery the whole north became just because Jonathan distributed things equitably,giving a fair opportunity to others aswell.
