The Chief Financial Officer of Royal Dutch Shell Plc, Mr. Simon Henry, while noting that the various attacks on the oil facilities in the Niger Delta region were signs of alarm among foreign oil companies, pointed out that in the past, energy companies could repair pipelines after attacks, but recent attacks were more destructive than in the past.

“We cannot operate or repair if our people are threatened. It is not possible at this time. In the past, energy companies were able to repair pipelines after attacks, barring a few exceptions deep into the region’s swamps and creeks. The attacks are more destructive than in the past.”

All those saying there is no sense repairing should not complain when prolonged power outages and fuel scarcity returns.
What justification has Shell for saying it fears for the safety of its staff?

Has any staff lost their lives or even been injured?

Shell is covertly supporting the sabotage of the economy because it is amounts to the sabotage of a government that is gradually shutting down all avenues for them to illegally enrich themselves from corruption in the industry and oil bunkering.

What Shell and other oil multinational are doing by shutting down and leaving the sites, is to justify why they cannot detect the saboteurs that are blowing facilities that is supposed to be under their control.
