What are your community's and region's contributions to the Federation Account?

And do you mind enumerating the ecological devastations and sacrifices, and economic, social and developmental deprivations your people have endured for decades on account of those contributions?

If you don't have answers to the above questions, what then qualifies you to talk down on these people in the manner you have just done?

Yeye dey smell. They are asking for pipeline surveillance contract to be restored back to Niger-deltans. Abeg o, during GEJ's era when niger delta were in charge of pipeline , were there no cases of pipeline vandalism Prof Barth Nnaji (fmr minister of power) cried so many times on tv how pipeline vandalism is killing power sector, Okonjo iweala saying the same thing at different conference.
They were given contract to protect pipelines with nigerians thinking that would end vandalism, yet na them go still go for back go blow am up. Whts then the use of giving them the contract? After, someone will come & complain of contaminated land. Yeye dey smell!!!

Why can't Buhari just order the military to shoot at sight anything they suspect to be Boko haram, Biafra/IPOB, Ultimate Warriors, etc and their family members so that we may have peace in our coutry?

Its not as easy as that.# Jonathan would have done so, if it was a sleepover# Administration and Leadership is all about maturity and tolerance, understanding the intricacies thereof.

Prayer is all that we need, understanding that our LEADERS have over time set bad precedence which has eaten deep into our daily lifestyle today#

These fighters are sponsored by our political top echelons and we are echoing shoot at sight// who will make such pronouncement? The sponsor or the sponsored?
Question: Who investigates the investigator? Pray, just pray!!!!

Don't they also want all corruption charges against ND politicians who stole money to be dropped?

The problem of the Niger Delta is found in their own house. These states get 13% derivation from crude oil sales. Before you say that is not enough, just look at the infrastructure that has been developed by Akwa Ibom (good roads everywhere, world-class hospital and stadium) and Cross River states (Tinapa, Obudu, etc). You'll rarely hear of militant/criminal activities in these two states

Ok lets look at Delta, Rivers and Bayelsa states where militancy are concentrated. These states are the highest beneficiaries from the 13% derivation rule, collecting trillions of Naira since it was implemented. Do you hear of life-changing infrastructure being built with the money? No. What we hear is Alamesigha dressed as a woman to escape bail from UK, Peter Odili granted perpetual injunction against arrest, James Ibori in jail in UK (forfeiting hundreds of millions of pounds meant to develop his state to the UK that does not even need the money), etc. Furthermore, their own son was president for six years and he could not implement a single project in his own village not to talk of his state belente his geographical zone.

Yet, criminals from these particular three states (Delta being the main one), continue to blame 'lack of federalism' while asking for corruption charges to be dropped against thieves like them. Akwa Ibom and Cross River are leaving you people behind and I don't see the same 'lack of federalism' holding them back. SMH.

If you give Delta, Rivers and Bayelsa their own country, they will loot themselves dry and still blame the poor Hausa man in Bauchi who's farming onions. People in the ND need to hold their leaders accountable while also looking at the mirror.

Rant over

Your post is myopic and lack any credibility. You were able to drag your audience to concentrate on delta state! I am not sure if you have been here before?

If we agree with your assertions on Delta and Bayelsa states.., what about river state? Are there not impressive projects done over there?

It will be nice if you can constructive direct your grievances to the few Hausa cabal that connived with the west and NASS to make the Niger delta the playground. Thanks

Hmmm

There will always be sporadic, violent eruptions in the ND, until the injustices against the people are extensively and adequately address. The people have been short-changed for so long and they can no longer bear it.

From poor infrastructures, biting unemployment, little or no FG presence, unending environmental pollution, uneven representation in the FG and it's agencies to illegal allocation of their oil blocks to appease political power house and party cronies

The lopsided allocation of oil blocks during the military era and 1999 - 2007 should be revisited and justly addressed.

It goes beyond temporarily silencing agitators with stipends or surveillance contracts.

Their grievances should be attended to with utmost urgency, sincerity and renewed enthusiasm.

What grief? They are the architect of their own problem. All men fighting for their own pocket. Have stayed in ND for 15yrs so I know what am talking abt.

Akwaibom and crossriver are located in the southeast of Nigeria's map. They were made south-south because of political manipulations when calabar was a main base in the former eastern region. Akwaibom and calabar have more in common with Igbos than Edo and the rest of south-south...

There is no amount of killing that will result in peace. The only thing that will bring peace in Nigeria is for government to do the right thing which is restructuring the project call Nigeria (TRUE FEDERALISM OR REGIONALISM) Until then forget about peace.
