It's a waste of energy due to the resistance of the conductor chain once the circuit is closed by putting load, not to talk of the danger of having a giant live wire (chain) laying all around.

This isn't invention but discovery because the chain has been existing, he only discovered it can be used for something else apart from the connection of wheels.

The first thing to consider is safety. He instead blatantly and stupidly ignored this. That's 220v of a/c he's playing with. He could have at least use empty table water pet bottles to finish the insulation

When I was in high school, I use to fix my house wiring, junction boxes with naked i.e. with my bare hands with no insulation or gloves, all you need to know is the principle of electricity and respect them, period!

Electricity needs potential difference for it to flow through you, thereby shocking you. When you are touching a live cable, as long as you remain at the same high potential as the naked hot wire, you are good....don't create the potential difference high or low.
