The Fourth Industrial Revolution: Where Is Nigeria? by anyinso: 8:25am On Jul 08, 2016
The first industrial revolution used water and steam power to mechanized production, Nigeria was not there. The second used electric power to create mass production, Nigeria was no where to be found. The third used electronics and information technology to automate production, at this level, Nigeria was just waking up. Now the wind of fourth revolution is blowing all over the world building on the third revolution which Klaus Schweb the founder of World Economic Forum called ''Cyber-Physical System'' which is characterized by a fusion of technologies that is blurring the lines between the physical, digital and biological sphere" This time around Nigeria is found but as a country that is inventively and technologically dead, divided along ethnic and religions line and is in total economic and political hostage.
My concern is do Nigeria and Nigerians know that we have enter into the fourth industrial revolution? which is multiplying technology breakthrough in the fields such as artificial intelligence, robotics, the internet, biotechnology, nanotechnology, material science, energy storage and quantum computing etc If at all we are aware, where are we going to be left at the end of the day if we did not stop this sentiment, bias, maneuvering etc that have characterize us. I am worried.
