WhatsApp will stop working on some mobile

I've come across this news but I find it hard to believe until today, I download WhatsApp on my Nokia Asha 3110 when I saw this notification:

"We are sorry to say that WhatsApp won't be working anymore on this mobile from 31/12/2016"

May 2017 and I'm STILL using Whatsapp on my Nokia S60 device (using the simple Hack).

Since the whole Whatsapp system broke down yesterday reported in the news, I've suddenly stopped getting that annoying message says "Whatsapp will stop functioning after December 31....", which for a time was annoying each time a 'learn more' website covered my chat window. Now it seems to be working on my Symbian S60 like it did last year 2016.
Why do I still use Nokia on S60? Still better than Android. Battery life lasts all day easily without need recharge. Has a brilliant quality camera much better than any Android photo I've ever seen and because I don;t have access to WIFI I pay for every megabyte, With the Symbian OS there's no continual 'updates' burning up data
