"The failure of the PDP at this point will be calamitous for this country. It is even unthinkable because when you look at the other parties, they have nothing to offer."
- President Obasanjo

With the Nigeria national (s)elections a mere 6 months away, another opportunity presents itself for the looting political elite to invest heavily in our seemingly bottomless public treasury.
At the cost of N5m per form for presidential shares and with more than 20 “private investors”, business indeed is booming for the People’s Destruction Party. Governorship “investors” will have to fork out the princely sum of N3m to have a shot at the governorship shares.

Recent developments suggests the PDP has gathered a list of legislative shareholders who must be prevented from returning to the legislative trading floor come 2007 as punishment for displaying disloyalty to the party. However, the targeted legislative shareholders have come up with a clever strategy to return to the trading floor. Most are anticipating switching their allegiance to their frontmen running under the banner of other splinter political business enterprises and buy up their shares after the (s)elections.

Other shrewd governorship shareholders, interested in trading in their shares for a spot on the national trading floor, have been pleading with legislative shareholders in their constituencies to relinquish their seats in exchange for promises of political appointments in the executive arm of the revenue sharing corporation of Nigeria (RSCN), a subsidiary of the PDP plc.

In other developments, the ceremonial vice-president of the RSCN, Alhaji Athiefu Abubacha, has inaugurated an 85-man committee to coordinate his desperate attempt to take over from the supreme leader of the RSCN, Chief (Pastor) Olusani Abachanjo while masquerading as a democracy defender.

As the (s)elections draw closer, casualties are already falling by the way side. Members of state legislative trading floors are more than ever before beginning to wield the impeachment stick under the influence of the supreme leader of the RSCN for offences of gross misconduct. The disloyal politicians disciplinary committee (DPDC) under the able leadership of Alhaji Nuhu Ribadu has also been actively at the forefront of prosecuting presidential enemies and discrediting possible candidates for membership of the RSCN.

nnamani is now a senatorial candidate and since he belong to the peoples destruction party, he is sure to win which means from immunity to immunity. what a wonderful Ribadu?
let us see them interprete the script of the almighty obj.
pdp wants governors to provide a candidate which means obj will shield their sins and at the end of the day the new president will shield his own sins.
it is unfortunate that nigerian politicians are shameless. Odili is now making electricity his campaign base with the same promises obj made in 1999.
let whosoever promise us steady power supply fail election because they now know it is important so they are using it against us.
if odili wants electricity for the people why didn't he do it in his eight (cool years as a governor?
obj and co, in case i do not have time to say fairwell to u on the 29th of may come 2007, have it now;
you are a total disappointment as we did not enjoy the steady power supply which u promised us during ur campaign.
the roads are worst than u met them. the security system hit a record stage since the inception of nigeria. bribery and corruption which introduced a monitoring system that is selective in its system.
your so called henchmen, such as Tony Annenih, Bode George and the Ubas have grown from power to power and have remained a thorn in the country's flesh and to worsen it all they are this untouchable that any finger pointed against them will never raise to point again.
your administration is bent on turning honourable men and women into liars just to please ur majesty. history will not forget the warriors of ur administration whose showed up and disapear just to maintain their self dignity. our able Okonjo Iwuala was a hero of ur administration as she could not be poisioned by infectious administration.
her removal proved wrong the school of thought which believed that no one changes winning team-obj does.

The PDP as a political party has no strong political ideology or philosophy.
There is virtually nothing of note that it stands for.
The OBJ administration in 8 years has created some reform programmes which the PDP has now claimed ownership of.
Democracy is about issues and not persons really,
Not until we get this right, we will not have democracy. The PDP running the executive, the legislative in 7 yrs plus have not been able to show significant improvement in the lives of Nigerians. We need to reject them now.

I agree, I do not like the way the PDP functions. But what's the alternative. Is there a better party or are they all similar? What type of governance do they stand for? What candidates are they promoting? How do they intend to continue improving the country?

Things would be better if these opposition parties can get off their asses.
