Repentance is not simply about praying and saying to the Lord, “I’m sorry,” it is a change in ones heart, mind and lifestyle. Accepting Jesus into one's life includes accepting His Lordship and all that comes with that. Repentance is turning away from the old life and welcoming Jesus’ new life in. It begins with prayer, but continues with daily action – choosing to put God’s will first and foremost in one's life.

In Mathew 7:16, Jesus said that you "shall know them by their fruits" - the fruit of repentance is a changed life. We cannot say that we have repented and then go back to our old life again and live exactly the same way.

Put simply, repentance is direct change in our lives. When we have changed to live for God and put away our sin, then others can witness our repentance in action.

We must stand for the way of the Cross, which is the only way to everlasting life. To live the life of Christ is not just to escape hell but because, it is the best thing for any human race.
