Re: Your Wedding Perfect Budget by Midekin(m): 5:49pm On Jul 24, 2016
I did a research on why wedding decoration is expensive. The perfect Answer to my research is just dat most decorator doesn't have decoration material and d only solution to that is to rent from rentals which is mostly high depending on the category of fabrics, centre piece, chandelier, backdrop, table cover, chair covers etc you want to use. Most people think dis our perfect budget won't work out coz the amount is extremely small compared to all d package dat comes with it, it is small coz our decorators have all d materials u might want to think of likewise to all the d remaining vendors we are using.well we have a good CV of different clients we hve used it for and excellent feedback are gotten which even makes it for us to get more customers through referrals.........u can always count on perfect budget

1,400,000 NAIRA WEDDING PLAN.

1. Wedding Venue
The only two things that are usually decided on before the wedding venue are whether or not to get married and the date. The wedding venue can be costly, but you can save a lot of money by getting married on a day other than Saturday or getting a venue close to Ikeja environment which will not be as expensive as Ikeja halls but still some few minute to Ikeja and free from hold up (Berger express)

2. Reception Food and Drink Menu
The best way to save on food, drink, and desserts for your wedding is to provide your own. Make enquiries of different caterers, don’t use the ones that already made big name coz they will charge you high but look for the ones that haven’t made the name and can cook even better than the name makers. find a venue that allows you to bring your own liquor, beer, and wine. The bar tab is generally the most expensive part of the refreshments.

3. Wedding Photographer and Videographer
When your wedding is all said and done, you want to make sure that you have a keepsake that will remind you of every moment and every emotion of that day, which unfortunately can be very expensive. Consider ways to save, like hiring someone that’s just getting started in their career or someone who shoots weddings as a side gig.

4. Wedding Ceremony and Reception Music
It can be expensive to hire a professional musician, a band, or a DJ, but luckily there are many ways to save in this category. Using an event planner you can surely get an exclusive band and DJ at a very cheap price because the band and DJ are already in good terms with the event planner coz he uses them everytime.

5. Wedding Decor
It’s easy to go overboard and let the budget get out of control when decorating your venue, but luckily there are many ways to save. The easiest way to get a cheap decorator is also similar to getting a caterer, don’t get a decorator that already made name but instead get a decorator that hasn’t make much name and most importantly, the decorator must have all his decoration materials, if you go for the ones that will still go and rent, there charges will be high. Check from their past jobs and choose.

6. Ceremony Decorations
Sometimes less is more, and this will help you keep the price of decorating your wedding ceremony venue reasonable. Keep in mind that depending on your venue, the setting itself may be all you need.
Wedding Attire

7. Wedding Dress
It’s easy to get out of control when it comes to spending money on what is usually the bride’s favorite element of the wedding – her wedding dress. Fortunately, it is also easy to save money on the dress if the bride sticks to her budget and shops wisely.

8. Menswear
Even though most people will be looking at the bride, it’s also important that the groom looks good. And luckily, menswear is not nearly as costly as the bride’s dress. Men need to be flexible when choosing what they will wear on the big day and should consider alternatives to tuxedos.

9. Bride’s Hair
Having a stylist come to you on your big day may be convenient, but the big bill may cause unwanted stress. Doing your own hair or going to a cosmetology school are two great ways to avoid spending a fortune on your hairdo.

10. Bride’s Makeup
The same holds true for the bride’s makeup. If you have a professional do your makeup, it can be expensive. Alternatively, you can buy your own makeup and do it yourself, but that also can be costly. Consider ways to cut makeup costs, such as by using coupons to buy makeup or by visiting a department store’s cosmetics counter for a free makeover.

11. Wedding Jewelry
Not only will there be an exchanging of rings during the wedding ceremony, but the bride will most likely want to wear a few pieces of jewelry to complement her wedding gown. The best way to avoid spending above your jewelry budget is to stay out of high-end stores, and borrow from friends and family.

Other Wedding Costs
12. Wedding Invitations
The wedding invitations are another category where you can save a ton of money by doing part of it or all of it yourself. Consider providing your own cardstock to the printer or go electronic by sending out email invitations.

13. Wedding ushers.
Ushers are very important in the wedding, they help you coordinate your guests, they usher them to their seat, get them what they want, reserve the special seat for the chairmen of the day, researve seat for the men in suit, bridals train. And attend to enquiries.

QUESTIONS TO ASK YOUR WEDDING CATERER

1. Does the caterer have a license?
2. Does the caterer have liquor liability insurance (if they're providing alcohol)?
3. Can the caterer provide references from previous clients?
4. Is the caterer working any other weddings or events on the same weekend or same day?
5. Does the caterer specialize in certain types of food, such as organic, locally sourced, ethnic or gluten-free? Does the caterer work with fresh, not frozen, food?
6. Does the catered meal come full service?
7. What's the average price range and does the caterer offer packages?
8 When does the caterer need finalized choices?
9. When will the tasting take place? Does the caterer offer tastings before being hired?
10. Does the caterer provide wedding cakes as well and, if so, is it included?
11. Will the caterer provide napkins, silverware, and salt and pepper shakers? Are they extra?
12. Will the caterer provide a waitstaff? How many are included in the package and what's the fee for additional waiters?
13. What will the caterer and their staff wear?
14. Does the caterer provide a bar, and what sorts of packages do they offer? How do you charge (by consumption or per person)?
15. Will the caterer provide alcohol or do you need to handle the bar separately? Can you provide your own alcohol and does the caterer charge a fee for that?
16. How many bartenders are included in the caterer's package? What's the caterer's fee to hire extra?
17. How do delivery, setup and breakdown work and is there an additional fee? How much time will the caterer need to set up? When will the caterer need access to the wedding site?
18. will the caterer prepare the food? Are there on-site facilities or will the caterer need to make additional arrangements with the wedding venue?
19. Will the caterer set out the wedding place cards and menus we created?
20. Who will oversee the event on the wedding day? Will the same caterer you worked with when planning also oversee meal service on the day?
21. Does the caterer have extra charges, such as a security deposit.
22. How does the caterer arrange the food on the buffet or plate? Can you see photos of previous presentations from the caterer?

30 Ways to Save Money on Your Wedding

Reception
1. Cut the guest list. This will slash your catering costs and save on invitations and even the number of centerpieces.
2. Think off-peak season and save thousands! (January to July)
3. Hold your ceremony and reception in one spot -- it will cut travel time for vendors you pay by the hour.
4. Skip the Saturday wedding. Because hall charges are higher than the week days.
5. Have bigger tables so you need fewer centerpieces and tablecloths.

Flowers
6. Use more greenery than flowers.
7. Stick to just one or two kinds of flowers.
8. Buy flowers that are in season.
9. Include non-florals, like lanterns.

Food & Drink
10. pay your caterer per plate. Since you can estimate the numbers of guest coming.
11. Offer beer, wine, and a signature cocktail instead of a full bar.
12. Serve comfort foods like barbeque chicken, rice, swallow. It's fun and often cheaper.
13. Skip the champagne toast.

Cakes
14. Order a small one or two-tiered cake
15. Keep the add-ons simple.
16. Use fresh flowers, not sugar ones.
17. Reuse ceremony flowers for the cake table.
18. Skip exotic fillings like guava and mango.

Stationery & Favors
19. Get single-page invites to save on postage.
20. Give out one favor per couple.
21. Make your cake the favors.
22. Have favors double as escort cards.
23. Email your save-the-dates.
24. Make your own menu cards , escort cards , and wedding favor packaging.

Photo, Video & Music
25. Have a photographer you love but can't afford the prices? Ask them if they have an associate shooter who will do your wedding for less.
26. Opt for a smaller band.
27. Hire a band or DJ who can do both the ceremony and the reception.

Ushers, Hosts & Hostesses
28. Get cute and pretty university students that you will pay less and they will usher your guests in.
29. Train them on the job and let them know your guests of honors.

BOUNCERS
30. Get huge bouncers that will help you secure you events, restrict people that doesn’t have invitation and also give it a class of touch

THE TWO MAIN CAUSE OF EXPENSIVE NIGERIA WEDDINGS
If you have done your wedding budget and you are scotching your head on how to bring cost down, here are the two main areas to cut and your wedding budget will drop like magic.
1. Your guests list (this is the main cause)
2. Your venue.

FIXED WEDDING COST: With weddings, there are cost that remain the same co matter the number of guests you have- such as DJ or Live band, MC. Some other cost such as venue, food and drink) increase based on the number of guest you have.

VARIABLE WEDDING COST: the number of guests you have is the main thing that increases a wedding budget and determine how much you will spend bon venue and food. For example:

WEDDING VENUE: you pay by how big/small the venue is. Some halls have big hall and small hall and each has the maximum number of guests it can accommodate- more money for bigger wedding halls. some locations generally have expensive wedding venue.

WEDDING FOOD AND CATERING: the more guest you plan to invite, the more plate of food your caterer would charge you, and the more food you have to budget for.

With PERFECT BUDGET we can make you spend less and have your dream/desired wedding with our any of our packages.

EXTRA CRAZY CHARGES IN WEDDING VENUES

Deciding where you'd like to have your wedding can be a tough decision to make. In the end, it is almost as if you're finding a home for the biggest party, day, and moment of your life. So the place you choose should have the atmosphere, vibe, and accommodation that not only fit your budget but also fits the overall look and theme of your wedding.
When you've said "I Do" to a wedding venue and are about to sign on the dotted line you can often be so excited that you forget to check for hidden fees. Here are four ways to make sure you've discovered and dodged any hidden wedding venue fees that you were not intending on having to pay for later.

1. Review the Contract Yourself
Love does make us all a little blind, but when it comes to finding the wedding venue of your dreams, avoid jumping in and signing on the dotted line without reviewing the contract. Get a second pair of eyes to look over it as well.

2. Circle Any Questionable Fees
There may be descriptions of fees that you don't fully understand, like a cake-cutting fee or a set-up and breakdown fee. Highlight those and ask the venue to explain them to you before making this official.

3. Outline Overtime Charges
Because the party might not end when you think it will, be sure to have a set fee attached to what happens if you don't leave the venue for an hour or two after the scheduled end time.

4. Taxes, Consumption Tax.
Even though the venue has quoted you an initial price, be sure the contract you're signing has the final price, including all taxes and extra add ons. Just so there are no surprises after you sign on the dotted line!

TAKE NOTE; Lydia Halls Event Centre Will Never Charge You Any Extra Fee Aside The 350K Of The Hall Price. Visit: www.lyhalls.com. 08060363664.

4 WAYS TO LOWER A WEDING COST AND STILL HAVE QUALITY WEDDING

1. Pre-agree on a specific number of guest
This will help to know the number of guests you are expecting and it will help in cutting cost on decoration, food and drinks, hall capacity.

2. Have white and traditional on same day
This will save feeding your guests twice, if the two is done on same day you
can easily cut cost on feeding and drinks.

3. Avoid setting your wedding date on a busy month/week
Hall rate during the week is cheaper than weekend and it will also help to reduce people you didn’t invite.

4. Use SMS to send out wedding invites
Save money on printing invitation cards by using cheap SMS, BB messages, email and facebook invites. Only print invitation cards for older people, your family and friends. This should cut costs by about 50% and let people know that the text message is the formal invitation.

WE CAN HELP YOU ACHIEVE A CLASSIC WEDDING WITH YOUR BUDGET.

5 WAYS TO CONTROL CROWD AT YOUR WEDDING

Having your wedding should be a fun memorable time of your life, with your loved ones and well-wishers in attendance as you begin the rest of your life with your partner. What you do not want however is a wedding & reception venue packed full with people falling over themselves to get a seat or the food not going round; trust me people will remember that kind of wedding for a long time to come.
Most of the time we think crowd control is impossible at weddings especially in Nigeria; both mothers will be inviting their entire women’s meeting members and the dads, the gentlemen from the club. There are also the extended families, co-workers, friends from school, good neighbours and the others to invite.
Oh there’s also the likelihood of 30% uninvited guests that has to be considered here, but who says you have to? Having a limited number of guests isn’t just about budget management , but also about how much friends and family you really want; you can still have a big wedding with just the number you can deal with. Here are five ways you can control the crowd at your wedding.

DECIDE JUST HOW MANY
It is a known truth that sending out invites can be more tasking than anticipated, especially with situations like, “Uncle Bola that has been so good to us, haba won’t you invite him?” Not everyone has to be at your wedding because frankly between you, your partner and both families, you all know too many people who may want to come, but should they all be invited? No!
You need a sit down with your family to decide how many guests invitations are allotted to each one of you, both parents and siblings. If it is a matter of sharing costs, be candid about it; but just because mom and dad are contributing doesn’t mean they can bring the entire community to YOUR wedding.

HAVE YOUR GUESTS RSVP
That footnote at the end of the invitation cards people receive? Yes. RSVP
Many people do not think much of it here but anybody who has ever planned a wedding can tell you how important a punctual RSVP is. From organizing the seating chart to giving your caterer or planner the final head count, it is difficult to make actual arrangements if you do not know for sure who is coming.
Unfortunately your guests will perceive it as a novelty rather than a necessity, so try to help them see the importance. How to deal with that, ensure that you tell them to RSVP, give them some time and then have someone send out emails or call them. You can also have parents and siblings get their RSVPs too; and it would make the guests feel special when you reach out to them too.

ADDRESS YOUR INVITATIONS SPECIFICALLY
You cannot say you want to streamline your guest list and send an invite addressed to ‘The Johnsons’; that’s a whole bunch of Johnsons if you ask me. Make out your invitations to the particular people you are inviting. You can establish the understanding that for whatever limitations there are, your wedding requires a strict guest list, so your invitation admits a guest with their significant other and maybe one extra person. Including info about whether children (not younger than a certain age range if you like) are allowed on your invitation can go a long way too.
Tell your family as well so they can respond appropriately when asked and also explain if you have to confirm the RSVPs. The earlier they know how many a card admits, the less hurt feelings there will be; especially if you explain nicely enough.
Let’s be honest here, there will always be tag-alongs and wedding crashers, not much you can do about that so you also have to plan for those. While careful planning could significantly improve your chances of having the wedding that you want guest-wise, there will always be a little percentage of extras; a lot less now that you have a handle on your guests. The best you can do is handle them with grace; your caterer and planner would know how. So have a fun experience planning and have an amazing memorable wedding!

PUT SECURITY IN PLACE
You can never be too secure about having your wedding plans go without a hitch, so chances are you might need a little extra reinforcement. Weddings are usually by invitations and more often than not, strictly so. While sentiments are bound to come into play on special days like this, you have to bear in mind that the smooth sail of your wedding is the ultimate goal.
Have a security company assist in controlling the crowd at your wedding. Invitees can be crosschecked at the main entrance before the doors to the hall, to avoid rowdiness and flare of tempers within earshot of your actual guests; and believe me there will be drama in these cases. Uninvited guests just need to be politely turned away and there is never a time too late to learn a valuable lesson.

CONSIDER HAVING AN AFTER PARTY
An after party has become a growing trend because it’s a chance to offer a more relaxed environment after the formality and tradition of a wedding reception. This would help control the wave of guests and give you a chance to really have fun with your friends especially if it’s the traditional, a long guest list is inevitable for you. This means you can end your reception early, there’s a good consideration of the older and younger crowd. You can give access cards to younger guests that lets them in at a particular time, after the older guests have gone.
To keep the costs under control, you can select the beverages and specific food you want available ahead of time, unless of course you want to give a free rein on the premium alcohol.

5 THINGS TO CONSIDER WHEN CHOOSING A VENUE FOR YOUR EVENTS

As the year gradually comes to an end, wedding bells everywhere. At season like this, event places/Halls are in their peak season because of the EMBER period. Most halls are booked till the end of this season.

With the recent law enacted by most state government in Nigeria, for instance Lagos state which prohibits individuals or group from holding their parties or wedding ceremonies in public places like the school compound, playing ground and some Government properties. In other words, hosting of wedding parties and other functions must take place in event

place/Halls, no more free venue. This explains why you see Halls and Event Places springing up everywhere on a daily basis. The question here is how do you get maximum benefit and at the same time reduce cost when it comes to getting a space or hall for your wedding ceremonies?

Here are 5 main factors to consider before going ahead to book a wedding reception venue.

CAPACITY

The capacity of your wedding venue is most times derived from the number of invites you sent out, which should determine the number of expected guest, so plan with that. In a nutshell, the number of expected guest is a determinant to your choice of wedding venue.

ACCESSIBILITY

This also a vital factor considering the fact that, you don’t want your guest complaining how and difficult it took them to get to your wedding venue etc, Access to your wedding venue is important because it dealt with issues like how close is the reception hall to the church/mosque wedding ceremony, how motor-able is the road leading to the reception venue and how easily your guest can find your wedding hall/venue. All these have to be considered.

AVAILABILITY OF AMENITIES

No Hall/event place function well without the availability of essential amenities. Some of which are

a. Power supply

b. Car park space

c. First Aid

d. Children bay

e. Good proper ventilation

f. Good sound and lighting system

g. washing area and cooking area

h. changing room & modern rest room

COST

For us all, this is the most important aspect when it comes to booking a wedding reception venue/Hall. Our budget determines what type of venue we get at the end of the day. As new couple I will say it’s best you go along with your budget, don’t do more than your target expenditure.

SECURITY

Lastly the security of your guest should be paramount. Therefore, ensure that your guests are safe. Do not host them in places where they are exposed to miscreants and area boys. Ensure your guests enjoy themselves and leave for their various home safely.

I know that most Nigerians love to party and in the process show off their prowess, I urge you to be cautious in all you do. My dear newlyweds I strongly advise that you stick with your budget when planning for your wedding ceremonies. Be yourself and don’t try to impress anyone.

I hope you enjoyed reading this little piece of mine and have gotten something from it? Feel free to ask question in the comment section.
