Pavore9: You mean by making our Honourable Legislators an object of public disgrace on our own soil? It is not a crime to get mad at US Ambassador in Nigeria for going beyond insanity and accusing the innocent, let alone our congressmen of grievous offense that can tear their families apart and also kill their careers without a slightest evidence than gossips and hearsay. 2 Likes 1 Share |

The minister also explained why the US envoy failed to attend before the House when he was summoned to present evidence on the charges of sexual misconduct against the three lawmakers. “You can’t summon an ambassador to appear before a national institution because he is the head of state of his country where he’s serving, and he enjoys sovereign immunity,” he said. According to him, the act of inviting the US ambassador to appear before the House is actually bringing ridicule to the Nigerian House of Reps and shows a lack of understanding of diplomatic agreement . Now that dey can't provide evidence, they r creating an excuse for their action. It's a pity a lot of us chose to stand by the US on dis, that's d African inferiority complex towards d white working. BCISLTD: The contention all along has never been denial of or revocation of entry visa rather blatant attempt to rubbish our Lawmakers and at large Nigerians from all walks of life before the international community. I put it to US Ambassador that this episode was a failed stage managed show that never materialized. Instead of bearing their shame, they went ahead to harass innocent family men with accusations of soliciting for sex and attempted rape. USA has ulterior motive beyond what is being put out on the media - Evil Empire 2 Likes 1 Share |

MadamExcellency: The only country that makes mouth/noise is north korea. Even russia and usa don't embarrass themselves, they use vague language. Who fit fight USA? U.S govt can even BAN THESE GUYS FROM ENTERING EUROPE...I ain't kidding. The U.S ambassador wrote to them, if they were actually enlightened THEY WOULD WRITE BACK asking for proof and if the AMBASSADOR doesn't provide proof the lawmakers will go and parley with buhari. Buhari will call obama...obama will direct the ambassador to provide proof or tender an apology...END OF STORY. The embassy of. America is AMERICA in nigeria, they aren't even governed by nigerian laws, nigerian police CANNOT EVEN ENTER THE EMBASSY WITH FIREARM, they cannot arrest anybody even a foreigner if he manages to enter the embassy...they can only wait for him to come out. If only people understand there are channels to exploit in this case, that ambassador would have been dealt with and humiliated infact his ambassadorial career might have been jeopardised if our house of reps actually had any tact about them 4 Likes 1 Share |

MadamExcellency: If they are telling lies and tarnishing the image of these honorable Reps, then the honorable can sue them and make a world spectacle out of them...They are drag America to a world court and dare them to provide the proof or face sanction for defamation, libel, etc....case close. |

saintdennis: The truth is, the reverse is also true, hence these Honorable were not arrested in the US...Nigeria Ambassador have full immunity in the US, infact they get away with low level crimes like parking tickets that even US citizens cannot...the worst that the US can do is to revoke their visa and send them out of the US. 1 Like |

BCISLTD: I concur.. the very state of our nation is a direct result of the incompetency of our elected appointed public officials. Majority of the leadership have just WASC result, some are Chairwomen of Tailors associations and some just got married to political godfathers and they have been given the responsibility of moving this nation forward.. why is failure a surprise. 1 Like 1 Share |

Pavore9: Let's not change the subject of this discourse. Our Legislators have been ridiculed, battered and disgraced for nothing other than mere gossips. What becomes of their families (relatives, wives and children)? What about their Career and public image? Just put yourself in their shoe to know how it pinches. Can you imagine being accused of rape in school by a lady you know nothing about and the University Senate approves a guilty verdict by a kangaroo panel and it was pasted on the University Bulletin Board? What will your parents and kinsmen think of you? It is painful and disastrous to imagine. 3 Likes |

But, the big question still remains: Were they or were they not Wrongfully Accused?! It would be a grave order of business if, after all the high-handed posturing, the US ambassador has actually being fagging those Senators and shytting on Nigeria all this while. |

Toofan007: Even if we know our law makers to behave that way, does that justify the actions of the US? How can they take such actions based on hearsay, no evidence, who does that? They shud b sued, cos their actions is a total disrespect to Nigeria. 1 Like |

So what was the first offence of these law-makers-raping in America or being rude at the embassy? I`m sure most of you know where I`m going: America set them up because they didn`t take any nonsense from America Am I the only one that remember the time our law-makers summoned the Spanish ambassador to Nigeria to explain the deaths of Nigerians in that country? It might be unusual but since Spain had nothing to hide, the ambassador went to them. My personal thanks to those 3 law makers for telling America that they are not like Nigerian slaves betraying their fatherland because of the need to visit America. Shame on all traitors! 1 Like |

MadamExcellency: I just wish we all feel the same for our fellow Nigerians who are spending time in prisons across the Country for crimes they never committed as it is also painful and disastrous to imagine when they do finally come out they do be tagged ex-convicts for the miscarriage of justice. The legislators should focus on clearing their names while l invest my sympathy to what is dearer to my heart. 1 Like |

While it's certainly unheard of for a parliament to summon an ambassador before it, ambassadors do get summoned. Nigeria has summoned the South African ambassador. China has summoned the US ambassador, France has summoned the UK ambassador and most recently Russia summoning the French ambassador over football fans treatment at the just concluded EURO 2016. I believe the Nigerian minister for foreign affairs has the powers to summon the US ambassador. The US is a natural bully when it relates with much smaller and less powerful countries. Since they couldn't support their spurious allegations against these lawmakers with evidence, they should have tendered an apology. It's hard not to get provoked by such allegation. 3 Likes 2 Shares |

MadamExcellency: My brother this is beyond being emotional. They could make things worse for the US just by going to court if they think they were accused wrongly. Law and emotion does not just go together. I'm not saying they were actually guilty of the accusation o but I think they should know the right thing to do.. Infact I still dey wait when our legislooters will summon Buhari... |

ATERI:guessing you feeling very patriotic, but chauvinism is what I'm seeing. Why could any country set up any lawmaker from another country? That the said lawmakers are from the Nigerian national assembly that is as useless, as irrelevant as putting a lip stick on a pig makes your assertion, well preposterous |
