Chief Dan Orbih, Edo State chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Tuesday
said the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Godwin Obaseki, has nothing to offer the state if elected in the September 10 governorship poll.Speaking in an interview with Independent, Orbih, who expressed confidence that his party will triumph at the end of the exercise, said Obaseki should tender his original certificates instead of a sworn affidavit if he really possesses the qualifications he claims to have in his credentials.Orbih, who said Obaseki did not state where the certificates got missing, also wondered why he (Obaseki) did not make a formal report to the police when the certificates were misplaced.
“Obaseki has no certificate. That was why he went to a court in Abuja so that people in Benin will not know. But in our usual manner, we got all the relevant papers, including the affidavit he went to swear to in Abuja instead of Benin High Court. He didn’t want the electorate in Edo to know that he has no certificate.Now he is saying that his certificates are missing but he did not state what year and the exact place it got missing. There was no formal report to the police when the certificates got missing so the police are not aware that his certificates were missing. Also, when you look at the affidavit he swore to, he said he was admitted into university in 1973 and graduated in 1976. He did not do A/Levels.
