Nigeria, A Dystopian State In The Making by shehuolayinka(m): 11:07am On Aug 25, 2016
Everything envisage by the people who fought for the independence of this country becoming an Utopian state, has so far seen Nigeria turn to a dystopian state in which the future of the country seem bleak.

Nothing more than the current state it find itself best describe the country as dystopia state, if not what tend to be obtainable in a country that class itself as the pride of the black race.

Everything about this country irritate me, from it people, to government, to the system it operate. Every single Nigeria is probable to be corrupt as everything about this country support and glorified corrupt practises.

Few years back, we were ranked among one of the extreme poor countries and the old general turn President also confirmed it that the country is poor. How best, can you describe a country, if not what you see on it people.

Everything happening now, point to Nigeria being a dystopia State. Dystopia also means utopia gone bad.

Nothing seem to have ever worked for this country, since independence, it has been from one issue to another, same ruling class, same character etc and the funny part is that everything befalling this country, is “man made”.

Dystopia is evident by imbalance in the society. We keep hearing about the country making billions of Naira
but the ordinary citizen is lost in the abyss of “is this true”? The ordinary citizen cannot afford one square meal, but there’s news of billions reported on daily basis by the media. Where are these billions? Is this true? When I can’t even afford N100, which keeps
being the question of the ordinary citizen. Meanwhile, the ordinary citizen doesn’t even want the unrealistic, rather he wants to have the ability to just afford a meal, but this again is too much to ask of the government that pride itself as of the people, a government that rode horse, on promises that has not materialise 14 month after ascension and current happenings seem to posit that those promise made by Mohammedu Buhari and his part, may not come to fruition.

One thing people need to know and understand, is that Nigerians are poor, but the country itself Nigeria is rich.

A selected few, has ensured that some if not majority, wallop in poverty and that they remain in it, till the ground comes calling.

Every state in Nigeria is blessed with one or two resources that can service a country of up of 50 million people.

Osun State going bankrupt is a clear case of mismanagement, same thing with Bayelsa and other State in Nigeria. It shows that those elected to serve are not worth to even be a Councillor.

Until we separate religion and ethnicity from the state, the current state will continue. Kleptocracy rather than democracy will continue to reign. Nothing will work. A little percent of the country population will be rich and majority poor. Let’s do away with the endurance and being optimistic about every quagmire we find ourselves. Awakening our consciousness to the truth at hand. Nigeria ain’t a “resource cursed” country. The theory simply doesn’t exist.
