Following successful sorting of ballot papers and counting of total votes cast, barr Rotimi Akeredolu (SAN) has won the gubernatorial ticket of Ondo APC with 669 votes to defeat his closest rival who scored 635 votes. Total votes cast was 2, 774. Other votes were Shared among other aspirants as follows.

The presiding officer has not officially declared Rotimi Akeredolu as counting has not totally ended. But there is jubilation in the capital city of Ondo State capital, Akure, as supporters loyal to Rotimi Akeredolu has started rejoicing over the obvious victory of their leader who people say defeated the anointed candidate of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in person of Olusegun Abraham
