Sound more like what a military government will do. The occupants of those shops need time to relocate their businesses!! if they dont, they need to hire a good lawyer and they will get compensated. know your rights

Let me say this emphatically, if that building is illegal based on the urban planning and development map outline, then it should be demolished. that's why it's good to check the land you buying @ all relevant agencies before proceeding to make payment

obviously it was not a sound investment if it is getting demolished. before you buy shops or build houses make sure you get lawyers to check the structural laws and permit laws. these people did not do their due diligence before investing. happens a lot of times. thats life. you gotta be smart and make smart decisions
