A Few days after the primary of the All Progressives Congress in Ondo State, some governorship aspirants who were not satisfied with the result of the primary have concluded plans to dump the APC for other political parties.
A former President of the Nigerian Bar Association, Chief Rotimi Akeredolu won the primary of the party held in Akure, the Ondo State capital on Saturday.

Investigations revealed that some of the aggrieved aspirants had been discussing with some less-popular parties in the state to get automatic ticket of becoming their governorship candidates for the forthcoming election.
Some of the parties with governorship candidates are, the All Progressives Congress, Peoples Democratic Party, Labour Party, Citizen Popular Party, Social Democratic Party and Allied Congress Party of Nigeria, while others parties are yet to conduct primaries.

It was reliably gathered that some of these parties without governorship candidates have written letters to some of the losers of the APC primary to join their parties and be their flag bearers in the governorship election.
An APC leader who did not want his name mentioned confirmed to our correspondent that some of the aggrieved APC aspirants were ready to leave the party so as to become governorship candidates of other parties.

He said, ” Some of the aspirants have already made up their minds to go away because they lost the primary. We wish them good luck. Let them go and try their strength in other parties.
“This is not the first time such a thing will be happening in Ondo State politics. The incumbent governor, Mimiko did it in 2007 and he won the election, so if they know they too can win the election, let them go and try their luck in other parties.”

However, the Publicity Secretary of the APC, Abayomi Adesanya, said there was no plan by any member of the party to defect.
He said all the aspirants had expressed their readiness to work with the winner of the primary, Akeredolu, to ensure the APC took over from the ruling PDP in 2017.
He said, “I don’t think that is true, no aspirant has that plan as far as I know in this party. After the primary on Saturday all aspirants have congratulated Akeredolu, which is a sign of acceptability of the result of the primary.

“The aspirants have promised to work with him. Together we are going to work to ensure we defeat the PDP in the forthcoming governorship election.”

The Iroko of Ondo politics never lost any grassroot election in Ondo State. He has been the brain behind all those that became the Governor of the State.
Right from the days of Baba Ajashin, Olomilua, Adefarati, and Agagu!
His defection from AD (the ruling party) in 2003 to the PDP cost Adefarati his second tenure.

The delegate list was manipulated in favour of Aketi. Aketi is on his own ,he should try his luck. We are not ready to support him,he took the primary as if he was contesting against opposition party.Majority of Ondo Apc members are not happy.His federal backers should come and campaign for him after technical manipulation of the entire process that led to his emergence as the flag bearer of the party.

which one is aggrieved members again??...u mean disappointed tinubu stooged election was free and fair to d xtent dat tinub's media,TVC broadcast it live to prove dat if their prefered candid8 wins,dere wont be any rrigging accusation.....only for karma to strike

I watched on tvc news,those that came to testify dat dey voted without accreditation......d question is:if tinubu's candidate had won,would TVC had interviewd those ppl?

I also noticed that 'your view' show on TVC refused to discuss d election

i don't know why olusola oke left the PDP he is the biggest loser of all. he came in second after mimiko in the last elections yet he left the party only to be beaten by some who came in third

I'm 100% sure the aggrieved aspirant is Olusola Oke, he will definately contest under another party, probably ACCORD & if he does constest... Both APC & PDP should forget the votes coming from South LGAS, He will beat anybody hands down over there..
