The All Progressives Congress (APC) promised Nigerians change of government from the former national ruling party, People's Democratic Party (PDP) to a new one and majority of Nigeria wanted a change after 16 years of maladministration by the PDP. Therefore, they voted out the PDP in the 2015 presidential election and changed the government.
