I've never been a fan of this phrasing, "genuine Christian." Because just like the phrase "good Christian," it's just another means for people to distinguish themselves from others, feel like they're above people, and take on a sanctimonious/prideful attitude with those they think are beneath them and a jealous attitude when they meet someone they think is above them. These "good" and "genuine" Christians believe they're good and genuine because they prayed longer, believed harder, and went to church every morning. OP, there is no such thing as a "genuine Christian" or a "good Christian" because at the end of the day, each and everyone of us are sinners and will continue to be sinners until the end. You're either a Christian or not. You're either with God or not. So please don't focus your attention on finding the "genuine Christians." Please focus on your relationship with God because that union is the only thing that matters.

Fruits of Holy Spirit. You can only see them in the life of true children of God; the christians.
