Saintbonnie:
Why not educate this people to produce what is standard to augment the supply to meet demand rather than destroy the facilities.
and in this same country northerns are mining Nigerian's solid minerals at ease. No one is going after them becos d minerals belong to them and not naijaa.

simple..the government(be it past and present) is not interested in creating jobs and making life easy for the masses..the earlier you know that the better... cheesy cool
Is that the reason why illegal refineries should be left to operate to damage the engines of our cars?

But who are the owners of these refineries?

Wrong Question.

Ask the government to license and regulate these small businesses. Give them crude oil legally, regulate them to protect the environment and tax them to grow revenue.

If we do this, importation of petroleum products will disappear. Not to talk of the jobs that will be created.

NO..but ofcourse the government is the reason for the illegal refineries in the first place..the government should ensure more refineries are constructed and managed...

Instead of closing them down, all the illegal refineries should be immediately legalised if they produce legal oil and petroleum products.
