– PDP can never win the Edo gubernatorial election, says Governor Adams Oshiomhole

– Oshiomhole says the Edo people appreciate all his efforts in the past eight yes and will vote APC for continuity

– He says his government worked across the 192 wards of the state, hence APC is covered all across Edo state.


Adams Oshiomhole, the Edo state governor, has said that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will not lose the September 28 elections to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Governor Adams Oshiomhole says PDP is wasting their time in Edo state.
Oshiomhole made the assertion while speaking to State House correspondents at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, correspondents on Monday, September 19.

According to The Nation, the governor said his eight years tenures have touched the lives of Edo indigenes across the 192 wards in the state.
He said Edo State has witnessed great projects that were never seen during the 10 years rule of PDP.


[b]Oshiomhole said: “For us it is fun, when you have a good report card, you are anxious to go and show to your parents that you did well in school so that you can ask for support to go to secondary school. It is when you fail that you cry and find a way to make excuses.
“We have worked for Edo people and across the 192 wards in the state, there is no place that you will not find standard government project, whether it is road, school, health centre and water. These are things they have never seen for 10 years of PDP.

“Before now, they use to laugh and dismiss Edo as miracle centre during WAEC examinations because public schools were dead. The parents want their children to go to university. But these children were never taught because teachers were always on strike over non-payment of salaries.

So people have to resort to miracle to pass and miracle is a good way to describe an organized fraud where you pay some prescribed fee and with the collaboration of the proprietor of the school and some elements in WAEC or NECO, the young man gets the certificate that does not match his intellect.”

“From that situation, we have rebuilt the schools and Edo teachers are paid as at when due. With all other efforts we did, the teachers are properly motivated. Now only qualified teachers are in our classrooms.

From the situation where Edo used to be 23rd in WAEC and NECO, last year we came 2nd.
“With all these, there is no way the people will vote for a party that had been given them excuses. I have no doubt whatsoever that anytime and anyday, a fair minded Edo man will vote APC.”

In a similar vein, Oshiomhole has advised his Rivers state counterpart, Nyesom Wike to use the state’s slim resources to settle accumulated workers’ salaries, instead of squandering the resources to fund electioneering activities in the state.

He gave the advice when he spoke on Friday, September 16 in Benin, the state capital, through the state commissioner for information and orientation, Prince Kassim Afegbua.
The Edo state governor reminded Wike that “Edo voters are not gullible like voters elsewhere and their level of sophistication would make the September 28th election a smooth sail for the All Progressives Congress,” adding, “It is our responsibility to caution Governor Wike before he exports his gangsterism to Edo state.”

He said further: "We find it very ridiculous that Governor Nyesom Wike, the noisy Governor of Rivers state still parades some level of effrontery to talk about governance when he has been unable to pay Rivers state workers’ salaries for several months.”.

I just dey laugh whenever most of this APC guys talk. They talk as if we all aren't in Nigeria, like it is only PDP and their supporter that are feeling the pains of this bad situation we're going thru cos of them. Let's watch and see.
