Wahala dey. Meanwhile, I think the banks are responsible for this outrageous rise in the exchange rate over the last 16 months. Since TSA funds have been taken away from them, the only way to make money is to sell the foreign exchange in their possession at exorbitant rates.

God bless that thing between your ears

exactly, why should government be selling forex in the first place, let them sell their $ at the black market and use the money to build infrastructure to spur local industries.
No pun intended, but I think the recession will help reset the brain of Nigerians gradually. They think it is govt's responsibility to provide dollars at a cheap rate.

What is our government really up to ? - if we have any.
And yet some people are rejoicing that another APC administration is to be installed in Edo state. Nigeria is in real trouble.

Unfortunately, the naira will continue to slide against the dollar for the next two-three years coz our supply is far less than our demand. There is no policy that the CBN will bring up that will suffice.

That is why we need to go through excruciating pains now to plant our rice, resuscitate our textile industry, build our own refineries and make our higher institutions world class, fix our erratic electricity, reduce pilgrimage and depend less on imports.

The truth is WHAT WE DON'T HAVE IS WHAT WE DON'T NEED, it's time to look inwards.

U mean when the naira was stable, we had all those things you mentioned in place?

No policy in view to check the freefall. The President and his economic team are confused. We are in deep sh!t. We are heading to N1,000/$1 before December .
At N1000/$, earning $100 will fetch you N100,000. No employer will increase salary in from N16,500($100 two yrs ago) to N100,000($100 now) in times like this.

This is the solution in a way a lay man will understand but the government will never do this things , they will want the people feel governance is not an easy thing in other to continue to be in position to oppress the people under the pretext of finding solutions to the intractable problems

What a country. No economic plan to stem this calamity. Feel sorry for hard working Nigerians who have to bear the brunt of this mess. Naira is nothing but a glorified tissue paper. It seems the leadership from the President and his economic team are just zombies. May God help Nigeria and Nigerians out of this titanic waiting to drown.
