On Kpobie-bodo Road Controversy: by Nobody: 7:54am On Oct 05, 2016
The Rivers State Governor, Chief Barrister Nyesom Wike accused Senator Magnus Ngei Abe, the APC candidate for the Rivers South-East Senatorial District, of embezzling funds apportioned for the construction of the Kpobie-Bodo Road in Ogoni Land, Rivers State, thereby leaving a long portion of the road uncompleted.

Senator Magnus Abe in defense, replied Governor Nyesom Wike, saying that he was not the contractor who worked on the road in question, but that he only nominated the contractor when he was Secretary to the State Government (SSG). He went ahead to explain that the road was already 90% completed before he left office. Senator Magnus further challenged Governor Wike to produce documents to show the public the level of work done and the unfounded accusation of embezzlement.

Reactions:

The Rivers State Commissioner for Information and Communication, Dr. Austin Tam-George, went on air yesterday to defend his employer's position and respond to the legal and moral challenge thrown by Senator Magnus Abe. The Commissioner reaffirmed Governor Wike's bogus allegations against Senator Magnus, insisting that he was only speaking from the records.

Which record?

The smart Radio Journalist who was interviewing Dr. Austin Tam-George was fast enough to halt him in between the lines of his flowery speech and demanded to know exactly which records he was reading from.

Pause.

Pause again.

Dr. Austin Tam-George developed an on-the-spot-story: "contract documents for the construction of Kpobie-Bodo Road were destroyed by fire".

My people, I am not writing again.

Good morning.
