Pistolx:
they are named after the first person to discover the huricane
Pistolx:
Ever wondered why this huricanes bear human names
lumzybo:

U took the word from my mouth #iswear
Hurricane katrina, now Matthew, who knows Mayb mark and luke are on the way.

1. They are given names in an alphabetical order. The first one to occur will obviously be named Andrew or Andy.

2. There are officials responsible for naming them and at times the list of names are available even before the hurricane hits, but the list lasts for only a year. Depending on how many occurred that year, the list can start from A-X for year 2000 and A-H for year 2001.

3. Many are not known to us because they where not as destructive as Mathew here, but they occurred.....

4. Mind you, these names are shared between hurricanes and tropical storms. Before a hurricane comes a Tropical Storm and before a Tropical Storm is a Tropical Depression. TD travel at a minimal speed and only become TS when the speed is between 38 mph to 40mph. It is then given a name, say the name is Benny. If Benny dies before reaching the wind speed of between 74mph to 76mph (not very sure about the actual speed), then it is recorded as Tropical Storm Benny. Obviously, if the Tropical Storm further increases in speed then it becomes a Hurricane. Hurricane Benny, whom will be known world wide.

5. It is very difficult to forget the name of someone that shot or robbed you millions. Personifying them makes it easier for everyone to remember them, more especially because they become the talk of town for as long as one can hold a grudge on anyone who wronged them.

Meaning, if this is the first Hurricane on record this year, there were 12 Tropical Storms before named from A-L and this one exceeded to becoming a Hurricane. Hurricane Mathew the troublesome.

Thank you Mr. Khamkham and Mrs. Van Der Merwe

That's one way to keep them from blowing away. In Orlando, Florida, one enterprising pool attendant decided to chuck all the sun loungers into the water to avoid more clean up.

Tsunami can also be referred to as a seismic sea wave, a series of waves in a water body caused by the displacement of a large volume of water, generally in an ocean or a large lake.

Earthquakes, volcanic eruptions and other underwater explosions(including detonations of underwater nuclear devices), landslides, meteorite impact sand other disturbances above or below water all have the potential to generate a tsunami.

Earthquake or Landslide triggers Tsunami most of the time. The deadliest occurred 2004 in Indonesia, killed over 250,000.

Hurricane/Typhoon are the same kind of heavy rotating storm system that produces strong wind and heavy rain.

It forms over large bodies of warm water(ocean).

In addition to strong winds and rain, tropical cyclones/hurricane are capable of generating high waves, damaging Storm surge, and tornadoes. They typically weaken rapidly over land where they are cut off from their primary energy source. For this reason, coastal regions are particularly vulnerable to damage from a tropical cyclone as compared to inland regions. Heavy rains, however, can cause significant flooding inland, and storm surges canproduce extensive coastal flooding up to 40 kilometres (25 mi) from the coastline.

Millions will die God forbid. If people are asked to evacuate lagos, thats when you see some millions that will be saying 'na lie, nothing dey happen, i rebuke flood IJN, Amen.'

They will ignore the warnings until they are in close contact with the danger or until they see the flood coming and then it will be too late.

Some will say they cant leave their investments o, they cant abandon their houses, cars or business.

Check the attached picture, see the line, people are moving out of the city ordely and quietly. In some places, can you see the green grass that demarcates this highway, they would have formed another three invalid lines on it.

It wont work unless the discipline starts from them, when there is traffic, what do you think they usually do

The governors, police, and the military. They whip people, hit people off the road, disobey/run traffic lights, take one way and like that.
