A chieftain of All Progressives Congress, APC, in Edo State, Chief Francis Inegbeniki, has warned that no amount of calls by some leaders of the party can remove Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, from office.

Inegbeniki, in a statement, yesterday in Warri, on behalf of “APC Disciples in Edo,” said, “It is unfortunate that our national leader, whom we all respect so much and Timi Frank, have asked Oyegun to resign from office, without disclosing the offence that he committed to warrant his resignation.

“Our national leader’s anger against Oyegun is related to the just concluded Ondo State APC governorship primaries, while Timi Frank’s an National Chairman APC, anger is the unfortunate crisis rocking the National Assembly.

Oyegun is not the cause of the crisis in the National Assembly and cannot take decision alone without other members of the National Working Committee.

“Oyegun was not an aspirant in the Ondo APC primaries, so, it is unnecessary for anyone to direct his anger at Oyegun. It is not fair to put all the blames on him. Nobody should use Oyegun as the sacrificial lamb.

“We are therefore, calling on the former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and members of the National Working Committee to call Timi Frank to order.”

Chief Francis Inegbeniki thinks this is Oba Market Politics? Chief Francis Inegbeniki should not put his mouth on matters way way above his pay grade. For the avoidance of doubt, i will refer Chief Francis Inegbeniki to this page on Wikipedia.

Wikipedia.

On 13 June 2014 Odigie-Oyegun was elected as national chairman of the APC. Bola Tinubu of Lagos State, the APC national leader, is thought to have played an important role in the decision.[3] The choice of Oyegun, from the mostly Christian south of the country, is calculated to win both Christian and Moslem voters in the challenge to President Goodluck Jonathan's People's Democratic Party (PDP). Wikipedia.

Chief Francis Inegbeniki should look at the name on the Wikipedia page that brought Oyegun to Power. The law of DEBE DEBE "A woman you have slept with once, you can still sleep with her again" can be applied here, and that is, somebody picked Oyegun from nowhere to be the Chairman, and that same person can still send him back to where he was picked from.

Chief Francis Inegbeniki should not forget that in Edo State, there is a Graveyard of the Skeletons of those who were killed Politically for going into battles with Tinubu.

Chief Francis Inegbeniki should ask Anthony Anenih and Tom Ikimi.

Chief Odigie-Oyegun is tired, and very much ready to leave now whether he likes it or not.

Don't understand why people keep blaming Oyegun for the crises in Apc..while keeping mute on the presidency.

Nobody in that party has the power to sack Oyegun as chairman..even the leader tinubu..except the president.
Tinubu is a ceremonial leader of apc and hold no real power.

The chairman of a party is directly under the influence of the president who direct him on how best to position the party to his advantage.
No other individual of a party can influence the chairman, contrary to the decision of the president.
His loyalty lies with the president only..and if in doubt..they president sacks him without qualms and appointed another..while the NWC and BOT falls in line.

Every politician knows this..Tinubu on monday..among other speech cunningly reminded the president that the bulk stops at his table.
Himself knows Oyegun is acting a script from the president.

Still wonder why some people will come on line and blame Oyegun for the crisis in the ruling party..

Jonathan used Tukur to achieve his aim of. Sole candidacy in Pdp against the wish of some Governors, even baba Obj.. if not for buhari which politician in nigeria would have stop his 2nd term.

Don't blame Oyegun..is all about the interest of the president..and any other person can be jettison.

You can't say the call for his resignation was unwarranted. I agree that it was not a 'one man' decision. But he was the head & heads must be ready to take responsibilities. Why set up the appeal committee for the primary election when you know the report will be rejected?
