I'm going to start a new thread to encourage Nigerian youths to start questioning their leaders about how they came about their stupendous wealth. This series is going to look into the dubious wealth of politicians and businessmen like [b]Tinubu,Atiku,Emeka Offor,Peter Obi,Saraki,Dino Melaye,Abdusalami,Bala Mohammed etc. I start with series with Obasanjo, the Otta farmer. When Obasanjo was released from jail, his businesses and bank accounts had been seized by Abacha who accused him of plotting a coup against him. Former Minister of FCT El-Rufai has been quoted by various media outlet that OBJ had less than N20,000 to his name after Abacha had moved against him. Just like Buhari Nigerians were deceived that they had a President coming to fight corruption and bring law and order to the country. However, that was not to be the case, just like stereotypical African leaders Obasanjo set his sights on primitive wealth accumulation by acquiring to following under a record eight years: 1)Bells Secondary School 2)Bells University 3)N2OO million Transcorp Shares 4) 50 room mansion in Abeokuta 5)Made Otta Farm the biggest in the country with the most advanced farming equipment in the country. The question Nigerians should be asking is how was he able to accumalte billions of naira in just eight years and why are other western leaders like Angela Merke,BarrackObama and David Cameron that run the largest economies in the world not able to acquire this much wealth in such a short time period. |
