Nigeria needs revolution, not rebranding

The idea of rebranding Nigeria is a short term palliative measure if not a pseudo prescription against the cancer of corruption, trauma of bad governance and menace of underdevelopment battling against the survival of the country.

Sincerely, how much of rebranding do we need to wipe corruption off our land? How much of rebranding project do we need to instill good governance in the hearts of our leaders? For how long do we need to wait for the miracle of rebranding efforts to energise the epileptic power bankrupt and poor economy in Nigeria? Millions of rebranding campaigns are not equal to a sincere and real revolution we need in Nigeria.

A revolution that will give rise to a great Nigeria needs to be collectively championed with zeal and patriotism displayed by our leaders who must always offer sacrificial services and followers who should not hesitate to give selfless support.

Not until we collectively believe, pray and work for the good of Nigeria through a sincere and real 360 degrees revolution, the idea of meeting the national Seven-Point Agenda, 2015 Millennium Development Goals, Vision 2020 and other excellent visions, will continue to be a mirage.

When the revolution is achieved, there will no longer be room for electoral malpractices, frequent daylight robberies, incessant kidnapping of people, perennial strikes in the educational sector, looting of government treasures, injustice and bribery.

Also, there will be no need for the police to be begging for alms on the road, no reasons for political office holders to demand or offer bribes and other evils associated with Nigeria will all be bye-gone.

Only the idea of national revolution that favours the concern and needs of all Nigerians, can offer resilience and total resistance to the cancer of corruption and underdevelopment in Nigeria.

I wish all the supporters of the project “rebranding Nigeria” can reconsider and reword their myopic concept and campaign for a thorough and sincere revolution in Nigeria.
