Unless I'm missing something, why wouldn't a husband & wife NOT know each other's salaries? Aren't they partners? Why would they keep that a secret? They're not in competition with one another. Suppose something happens to one of them? They should be aware of the finances I would think. They could perhaps have a joint account (as the main account for major & necessary expenses) & then maybe (but would have to be careful on this one) have separate accounts for disposable income.
