I alwyas thought Lagos was approximately 1,000km2 ,but i was just going though the FIFA U-17 world cup LOC site ,which says Lagos is 3475.1 km2 ?

Does anyone have the official area ?

Territorially, Lagos State encompasses an area of 358,862 hectares or 3,577sq.km.

What exactly do you mean by Lagos, do you mean Lagos metropolis or Lagos State. The difficulty lies in how to define the boundary of Lagos metropolis hence the size is arbitrary.

Probably the 1000sq kms is Lagos island,while in total (including mainland) it comes to 3500 sq kms

i know Lagos is the smallest state but 1,000 sq. km is just too small.
