The Niger Delta Avengers (NDA) on Tuesday destroyed an export line belonging to Chevron Nigeria Limited at Escravos in the Warri South West Council Area of Delta State.

The attack reportedly happened on Tuesday morning at about 3:45am.

The militant group claimed responsibility for the attack in a statement by its spokesman, Mudoch Agbinibo.

The NDA asked oil firms to immediately stop repairs on facilities that were previously destroyed.

The statement read, “Today at about 3:45am our strike team 06 took down Chevron Escravos export pipeline at Escravos offshore.

“This action is to further warn all IOCs’ that when we warn that there should be no repairs pending negotiation/dialogue with the people of the Niger Delta, it means there should be no repairs.

“Any attempt to use dialogue to distract us so as to allow the free flow of our oil will halt the dialogue process.”

This is the first attack by the group since it agreed a ceasefire and negotiation with the Federal Government.

I would never advocate blowing up private property. If the government is whom you have beef with.

Fiscal federalism, private property rights, mineral rights out of exclusive domain of federal government. That would am out to people collecting royalty directly potentially.

Seems the militants have 'resumed' from their 'midterm' break.

Meanwhile, is the crocodile still smiling or is it shedding crocodile tears?

Dialogue is the way out of this mess.

For christ sake, let them allow Niger Deltans to control their oil then pay 25% to the FG. Must Nigerians feed on them forever? Thank God they said there is huge oil in the north, also lagos, also Ebonyi with a great crude reserve, Anambra with the larges gas reserve apart from crude. This guys are powerful than FG and Buhari. They seem to be winning. All of us are grateful to the Niger delta because we have all benefited from their oil. No state would have survived without their oil, not even the so called lagos. Buhari, you see your life. Though i am not a niger deltan but i am in full support to any thing that will bring about their total liberation.

Na them go suffer am. Bayelsa and Delta states are owing their workers upwards of 5 months salaries but Anambra state that has not started harnessing our oil reserves pay workers in advance.
