Forwetinnah:exactly. dats why i fear for emefiele. if he's not careful, international organizations will not even consider him for appointment owing to d fact dat he fail to assert his professional independence from d illitrates. international organizations like to employ pipul who will show case their skills, ingenuity n decision making ability especially in difficult situations, not pipul dat will dance to d tune of external influence like emefiele. wait n see after buari govt comes to an end, none of his appointees n govt officials will get international appointment like GEJ's own. d only exception is minister of environment amina mohammed. 3 Likes |

Well in the previous administration nobody would have rejected an appointment because it was seen as a money making venture. 1 Like |

kahal29: Although Barth Nnaji is sound and up to the task but appointing him to that position will be a mistake. Barth is an operator in that industry, an active one sef. You cannot make an operator the Head of the regulatory Agency. There is bound to be conflict of interest. He will definitely dance more to the tunes of the. Industry players and not the consumers. That is part of the problem we are always having with our CBN governors. We should not start making the same mistake in our ailing power industry. 1 Like |

Tis is just so funny. But then, it's not everybody that can stand bullshit. Some people are not 'Yes-men' by all standards. What's the essence of an appointment when you are limited by all manner of mundane considerations. Some people have what matters to them. No everyone is swayed by political favouritism and appointments. 1 Like |

Keballl: The circumstances is different now. Eventhough majority of people did not know Barth before he was appointed, GEJ will definitely know that he has vested interest in that industry, yet he went ahead and appointed him. Nobody complained when he was appointed, or let me say majority did not complain. Now after the man was appointed and everybody started seeing visible changes in the industry chiefly due to his management acumen; it was that time GEJ deemed it fit to fire him, claiming he has vested interest. Why change the winning team in the middle of a crucial competition?? That move by Jona was a wrong move, and majority was right in criticising the sack as later events even vindicated the people that questioned the sack as Barth Nnaji's visible achievements nose-dived after his exit. Assuming GEJ left that man in the saddle, the power situation would have been better today. 1 Like |

To the best of my knowledge, for someone to be employable, u have to be qualified and then willing to work too. These men or women might be qualified. But are they willing to work? It shows how incompetent this govt is? No consultations whatsoever, how can u wake up one morning and decides that okafor is going drive ur kids to school that day without even knowing if okafor is willing to. If these people had been consulted b4 appointed them, they would have told the govt earlier their reasons for not being able to work. It would have saved them this embarrassment. Even the one I heard that had just a year diploma, it means they didn't do the background work b4 appointing them, it will bring nothing other than round pegs in square holes, it can only take us back to square zero. |

agabusta: You are simply in a state of confusion and tongue twisting escapades. GEJ was undertaking one of the biggest privatization in Nigeria history and any blemish would have rendered the entire process to naught. Relieving Nnaji was a little sacrifice to pay to improving investor confidence and bidding process. The sabotage in power sector was responsible for the poor power situation last year. An experience we all had earlier this year when the avengers were laying carnage to gas infrastructures. |

This administration seems to be Baby Administration. One deficiency too many. Simple things are becoming difficult task to accomplish. As a responsible and just administration; parts of the appointment processes, Consultation, Federal Character Principle, Track Record etc are among some of the simple things to do before hand. |

This government has zero direction & Buhari administration is operating at the same level of literacy with it's CEO, the Mallam of Missing Certificate The good professor obviously has committments that wont permit him to leave his current workplace for now, but typical Nigerian mentality is that political appointment is a kind of favour bestowed on citizens so no one bothered to confirm if he was available to serve or not. 1 Like |
