A lot of nursing mothers have been asking for tips on the best food they can give their toddlers. Toddlers need foods that are highly nutritious; at this phase your child is walking, running and talking nonstop. Such developmental landmark means his nutritional needs have changed. There is a need to pay proper attention to the diet of your child.

Is your child looking malnourished despite feeding him properly? Do not worry about this; it is quite normal with kids. Sometimes weight gain is depended on the genetic constitution of the parents. Nevertheless, there are some foods you can incorporate to the diet of your child which should help your toddler gain weight.

These are the 10 most researched foods for weight gain for toddlers that could help your kid put on weight. These foods will also help build stronger bones and antibodies that will protect your kid from germs and bacteria. The following foods include:

Breast Milk: It is a costless, nutritious and the most delicious food every baby deserves for the first 6 months. It enriches the brain and increases weight without increasing the bad fat in the toddler. A substitute is the diary milk gotten from cows; some women prefer this to breast milk.

Banana: This can be given to infant babies after six months of age. Banana is rich in dietary fiber, potassium, vitamin C and is a very good source of Vitamin B6. Banana can be introduced as Banana milk. It can also be mixed with porridge for a year-old baby.

Chicken: Chicken can be introduced after eight month. Chicken is rich in niacin, phosphorous, magnesium, Vitamin B6 and B12. Chicken can be given once a week to babies. Chicken flesh pieces can either be boiled or given as chicken stew.

Cheese: can be given after eight month of age. Cheese is rich in phosphorous, calcium and selenium. Cheese cut as slices makes a perfect finger food; you can also try serving fruit salad with cheese to your baby.

Wheat: is an excellent source of dietary fiber with low fat. Wheat can be given as cereal, you can also whip up an entire baby meal in a jiffy with wheat Mixes. You can make this at home easily.

Oats: Oat is another food that indirectly causes weight gain in babies. Oat is low in saturated fat and cholesterol and high in manganese, magnesium, thiamine and phosphorous. Oat is the only cereal containing legume like protein.
