linearity: Even amongst thieves there is honor and politicians are always united whenever their interests are concerned. With the passage of the bill it will give them more room to maneuver should anyone of them be in the same shoe saraki found himself presently. With such mindsets two third won't be that difficult to override presidential veto. 2 Likes |

BERNIMOORE: And the 2/3 will come from where? Please check the composition of the house and notice that voting will not be by voice vote but by the physical votes of all members entitled to vote. No anonymity. 2/3 of all members also means 2/3 of members entitled to vote and not 2/3 of those present. All the APC needs to do is call a caucus meeting at Aso Rock for the same time. It might also interest you to know that until a law is gazetted by the government, it is unenforceable. There is a good reason why a Presidential veto has never been overriden in Nigeria. 5 Likes |

They can enact all they want but it's only a very foolish president that wud sign that amendment into law. See how these people scorn Nigerians because despite all the outcry, they still went ahead with this stupid enactment because they know our dissent ends online,in radio/tv talkback shows and on nairaland. Nigerians seem to always be in perpetual state of inertia even if these crooks pour shit on their faces. When we Nigerians in their lifetime emulate the Arab spring. 5 Likes 1 Share |

PROPHETmichael: This type of amendment requires more than a SIMPLE majority, where AYE or NAY is the procedure. Aye and nay are not used in situations involving ABSOLUTE majority. 1 Like |

docadams: Dont mind those clowns in the NASS! They will have to put a GUN to Buhari's head, to sign this one into LAW! Criminals, legislating for their own criminality, that is what the National Assembly has become. Just wonder when we Nigerians would grow the mojo to march on those criminals and drive them out of that NASS? That place should be made "part-time" work. They should only collect honorarium, anyone that does not like it, should not contest to be come a Legislator. |

doctokwus: You are right Bro! We fight ourselves to death over politicians, who then turn around to rob us blind! The Avengers know to bomb Oil facilities Boko Haram knows to kidnap innocent girls Armed robbers know to rob the poor Church leaders know to fleece the gullible Kidnappers know to kidnap children of the middle class Millitant will only act against soldiers and Oil companies, not against those who loot their Treasury allocations! Judges know how to sentence the poor but the rich criminals can buy their way Police will shoot a conductor over #50 or kill a protesting student but avoids NASS looters like a plague We have so much misplaced our priorities, hence these Legislooters know to ride us like a Donkey! Its a sad situation. Saraki must be having a laugh now! 1 Like |

greenpasture:you are funny, Do you kow that 84 out of 109 senators backed saraki! that is over 2/3rd and even when they cannot follow him each senators hires a SAN for saraki, and thats why you at times see more than 80 SANs with saraki. There is a good reason why a Presidential veto has never been overriden in Nigeria.judiciary''s co-opreation is just whats needed, Now that the Njc are at loggerhead with buhari, Theres No better time than now to stamp their authority, lets enjoy te show as it lasts! |
