Contrary to media reports, the Chief of Staff (COS) to President Muhammadu Buhari, Mr. Abba Kyari has not been sacked or suspended from office by the president, a top Presidency source has confirmed. In the last 24 hours, the rumours of the alleged sack of Mr. Kyari has been making the round and appearing on social media and online news platforms but the source who spoke to our correspondent, on Thursday night, on the condition of anonymity described the news as untrue.

According to the source “this story about Mr. Kyari suspension and even sack has been off and on in the media but the truth is that the man has not been sacked. What is happening is the handiwork of political enemies and those who are angry that it is nolonger business as usual in the Presidency.” The source noted that the Chief of Staff is a dependable appointee of President Buhari stressing that “people know that their is nothing ?you are going to tell the president about Mr. Kyari that he will believe and that’s why they have resorted to blackmail, rumour and all sorts of calumny against the man”.

“The rumour they are peddling is just rubbish and unfounded,” the source stated further adding that “the man will be in the office on Friday”. It would be recalled that in the last three months, the rumour of Kyari sack has been “in and out of the media” over alleged lack of confidence in his performance by Mr. President.
